Iceberg
Original orchestral composition
Role: Composer, Orchestrator, Mixer
Premiered at the Cinema South Film Festival in 2020 as part of the "Disasters" project, Iceberg is a musical response to the urgent issue of global warming and the rapid melting of glaciers. Scored to video footage captured by Canadian Professor of Archaeology Matthew Walls, the piece was filmed on a site where Inuit and earlier communities have lived for approximately 4,400 years.
Through an orchestral performance by the Netanya Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra, the work reflects on the global significance of these distant, vital ecosystems and their role in preserving the planet's balance. It seeks to evoke both the fragility and power of the natural world, inviting audiences to reflect emotionally on the climate crisis and its far-reaching consequences.
